Fans Reunited - the story of Hillbilly Music

Post by paul jh » Sat Sep 24, 2011 4:09 am

Wasn't that an interesting story of how Michele and Richard found that rare song by Matt Monro listed as Hillbilly music? The song didn't sound hillbilly music at all to me. I can't recall the details and don't recall the song, but I hope it makes The Rarer Monro and its liner notes.

Wasn't it Strange Lady in Town Paul? I remember watching it on ebay and hoping no one else would bid against Michele.

It was "Strange Lady in town"---but i have been racking my brains to remember where I have heard it before-I know it sounded familiar.

The story is here Paul :-

However what i didn't know at the time of writing the article was that the version heard by so many on "The Harry Leader" story was an alternate take - The Top Hits disc is the originally released version and is on the list for The Rarer Monro next year.
