Sea Day 25/26 January

Just a quickie to let you know there is now some more video footage on www.facebook.com/michelemonro.
The clocks went forward again last night so we are now 4 hours ahead of England. Leon de ste Crux was doing another lecture taking us on a tour of our local solar system from its origins to its frozen outer reaches and explained why we might find the first primitive Extra-Terrestrial Life. Leon, apart from being our cruise director is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and spends a lot of his time in the Crow's Nest with his telescope. There's actually quite a few speakers on board which is why they are finding it hard to give me a spot. Ian Brown is on talking about his life and crime, Kenneth Williams is an archeologist, Steve brooks is a BBC Gardening Presenter an the port lecturer is Graham Howell. I think he is the only one staying on the ship after the first leg finishes tomorrow in Dubai. I shall be pleased to have a change of some of the entertainers as I didn't like the comics, Al Brown and Bobby Knutt, I'm hoping there will be some getting on that I know but we shall see.
I have also decided to make a bit more effort to join in with a few things and as Ian and Beth are getting off in Dubai I will probably have a lot more time on my hands. They were wonderful, they really made y cruise for me and I would hope they will be friends for life.
20 degrees today and counting, it's lovely sitting out on deck but I must start getting a bit of sun. Went to Ian's last talk today on 'Danielle's Story', incredible. It was about the bravery of Danielle Cable in helping to bring Kenneth Noye to justice after his brutal road rage killing of her fiance Stephen Cameron on the M25. It really made me so cross with the British Justice System but I won't go into that.
I received a lovely letter from Commander Martin Ewence OBE explaining what actually happened on Balmoral a few years ago. The pirates did attack but thankfully were unsuccessful in boarding her. The Captain has asked him to give another talk so that should be interesting. We had another bit of excitement today when we met another one of our security ships, this time British. We overtook the Wave Knight at about 11.15am and once again both of us tooted our horns. Actually it is very reassuring seeing the support but it makes you realise how serious the problem is.
About 500 are getting off in Dubai tomorrow and all of us staying on board got a mountain of paperwok for the Indian ports of call. Anyone would think we wanted to stay there - Listen UP - it is the other way around - shame we didn't set the same hardships regarding getting a visa!!!!
Bye for now
