The clocks went forward an hour at 2.00am but the Sea Princess also crossed the International Dateline in the night after we’d steered through the Lakeba Passage and out of the Koro Sea. The International Dateline is an imaginary line running North and South along the 180th meridian of longitude that designates the beginning of each calendar day. Each adjacent time zone on the map has an hour time difference. However at the International Dateline +12 and -12 hours meet, bringing bout a 24-hour change. Therefore, when that line is crossed heading west, a day is added, and while crossing n an easterly direction, as we have, a day is subtracted. Hence I’m now living Wednesday 25 April for a second time
