Matt Uncovered - The Rarer Monro

Five years in the making it delivers exactly what it says on the cover. Stored in the vaults of EMI and the BBC for more than four decades this sees 50 + wonderful new tracks as well as a smattering of unearthed jingles that Matt recorded for some of the most prestigious products of the day.

Well, we were surprised at the low price when the Rare Monro was released and we are even more surprised at this one- The Rarer Monro.
We've ordered ours from Amazon. HMV will no doubt have it and it serves well but it goes all round the world before delivery. and we don't want it for Christmas.

On the last few pre-orders I've had, Amazon have been painfully slow.

I find Amazon are very prompt and with HMV pre-orders you sometimes even get them a day or two earlier than the official release date. Play.com are usually super-efficient sometimes it's processed within minutes of placing the order.

I have always been happy with Amazon--sometimes if it is preordered the release date can be changed, which is not their fault.

I buy lots of other things from Amazon--most are free pp--all my ink cartidges, my new printer--more recently a new keyboard and mouse.
Joint tablets for my dog, plus glucasomine for myself, baby duvets to put in the dogs beds--pillowcases, loads more stuff , I cannot remember--cds and dvds--books of course--ebooks for my Kindle, downloads, also just bought a new Dab radio--really small and neat, just right for my bedside table. Plus a new phone--but that was not right, so I sent it back--that is another thing they are good at. But i then got another one which is perfect---also a new kettle, a new food processor--a replacement cat kennel.i bought my Lawn Mower from there--plus a strimmer--but when the strimmer did not work properly, they came and collected it, even though I could not dismantle it to go back in the box. I think you would be surprised at everything that they sell.

I cannot fault Amazon-that is why i like to be loyal to them--plus you get Nectar points on everything you buy-as long as you remember to log in Nectar first-I sometimes forget. By the way, most of these things have been bought over several years, some just recently.

I agree Marian, I've always found Amazon ultra efficient. I have had a couple of items lost in the post though, but they always have sent a replacement.

So do Ebay--and Play.com--loads of places. Sign up with Nectar first, then when you buy anything, go to the Nectar site first, and from there, take the link to where you want to go.

We had been looking at HMV but couldn't find the new CD so thanks Sandra for the update.

We were disappointed that we wont be able to have the CD in time for our holidays as we were going to download it to our iPods beforehand but not to worry we will be ordering it as soon as we get back.

:D :D

Thank you for the update, Richard. Is it possible to explain why the Greed refuses to let the world purchase a recording of Bound for Texas? Seems ridiculous that capitalism can stand in the way of people trying to honestly purchase beautiful music which the artists INTENDED for the world to enjoy. If they won't release it, what is their problem with contracting with somebody else doing so??? I was so looking forward to having "Bound for Texas". I don't think it's possible to get Charlie's movie anymore in which it was featured.
Thank you.

But you can find Bound For Texas on Youtube.

Not too long now until the CD is out. What tracks are you all looking forward to hearing?

Mike,
Besides Bound for Texas which is now not to be, I have been most looking forward to hearing Matt do "Old Devil Moon". I'm sure it's got to be the best recording of it ever@
