Five years ago 'The Rarer Monro' hit the stores. It has proved to be one of the most popular of our releases in the last 10 years. It's successor is on the way and 'Matt Uncovered: The Rarer Monro' is set to be just as good, if not better. It was due to be released in September of next year but because of public demand the date has been moved up and it will now be available on 4th june 2012.

While we excitedly count down the months until its release let me know what you thought of the original?

Which is your favourite track?
Did you enjoy the Spanish offerings?
Are you going to purchase "Rarer "?

We are really looking forward to the release of The Rarer Monro and have no hesitation in anticipating that it will be every bit as good as The Rare Monro.

1. Yes we did like the cover as it showed Matt to be in a relaxed mood doing what he loved best - singing.

2. A favourite track? How difficult it was to try and make that choice but we think Let Me Choose Life is outstanding.

3. We love the Spanish tracks on the CD.

4. Most definitely - with bells on!

Love the front cover and the picture on the back.
It is the CD that we never take out of the car.
So many great tracks but the song we always sing along together to is 'The Lady Smiles'
Love hearing Matt sing in Spanish.
And of course we can't wait to buy the Rarer Monro

1. I love this cover, one of my favourites actually.
2. Let Me Choose Life is my favourite track, although there are several more that come close.

1. The cover was brilliant and has become an iicon of the Rare Monro.

2. My favourite is the sublime, exquisite, and dazzling The Lady Smiles. Honorable mention to For the Touch of Your Love. But I have many favourites on both discs.

3. I didn't like Can't Take My Eyes Off You in Spanish as it was already on The Ultimate and I didn't care for it then either. I'd prefer a small handful or no Spanish tracks on Matt Uncovered.

4. I will buy Uncovered, but this is something so major that I will probably wait to purchase it t in store (HMV) rather than the very impersonal mail order.

One of my favorites of Matt's CDs ----

1. The cover is well done, but maybe more of a close-up of Matt
2. "Where in the World"
3. Songs in Spanish only if they were never recorded before
4. I will buy it on the release date (Hopefully it will be available in the U.S. the same time)

Hi Michele and worldwide Monrovians..
Michele, "The Rare Monro " is a testament to your tenacity and devotion to your Dads memory, what a pity these treasures lay buried for so many years.
I think half the problem with poor old Matt was that he wasn't born in America...if only the U.S. media /P.R. machine had embraced him he would have been
propelled into that fermament occupied by the Sinatras,Martins ,Davis-Juniors and the like , and be there to this very day.
Case in point is the (intentionally?) delayed release of "Portrait" in the U.S., as mentioned in Michele's wonderful book, giving Steve Lawrence a four week head start
on Matts version which was, it goes without saying, the better version.
But I digress...
1/. The cover of the Rare Monro is very evocative with that high angle studio shot ... Matt is in a pensive mood , is he reflecting on the recording session just gone ,
or waiting for the session muso's to arrive from the pub?
2/. Favourite track ?...'When I Look Into Your Eyes"..or "Other People"..or....just ask me to pick my favourite child..might be easier.
3/. Spanish Songs...Hmmm..If it's an English song converted to Spanish my crazy brain tries to decode from Spanish a split second after I hear the word
which I find infuriating , and it does tend to detract from my enjoyment of the track.
4/. Silly question. Counting the days
