The Rarer Monro reviews

Five years in the making it delivers exactly what it says on the cover. Stored in the vaults of EMI and the BBC for more than four decades this sees 50 + wonderful new tracks as well as a smattering of unearthed jingles that Matt recorded for some of the most prestigious products of the day.

You have been really unlucky with your cd Christine--hope it arrives soon--I can imagine what it is like with everyone raving about it, but you cannot hear it yet.

Terence, you will love it when you get chance to hear it--just sit back and relax, and that will help you feel better, I'm sure.

I chose disc 2 to start my Matt Monro listening experience. Several songs stood out on first impression. The one I like the most is track 10 "Lovin' You Again". I also like The World I Used To Know, Oh My Child, Time To Go, How Can I Live Without Your Love, Day By Day and One Last Try. I didn't care much for If You Go Away and the Spanish version of Maria.

I use Amazon a lot, you can always rely on them. Glad to hear it has arrived at last. I found I needed to listen to it a few times, as there are so many tracks on there--and on a 2nd or 3rd hearing, some of the more unknown tracks sound really lovely.

Disc 1 I really loved My Funny Valentine Ive never heard Matt sing that before
and it was just so beautiful. No One Will Ever Know Ive always loved that one, just so gorgeous,Ive Got You Under My Skin better than Frank's and You Make Me Feel So Young better again. There Are No Words For Love, just a beautiful song sung with so much feeling as always it's always been a favourite
of mine he puts so much into everything he sings. There are other songs I like
well all of them really and Matt delivers them so well just perfect. I will pick my
other one's on disc 2 later it's so hard to pick them, two great cd's, thanks both Michele and Richard.

2nd CD I Loved Once In Every Long and Lonely While I have always loved that
one both version's. And great to hear the three songs for Europe unedited, Maria just beautiful and short but lovely Two People, Time to Go oh and Oh My Child so beautiful just like John Iv'e waited a long time to hear that one I thought it was lovely the first I heard it back in 2007.
Didn't We I like both version's One Last Try that was a nice one, and all from
his radio shows they were great and all the jingles and lastly the Kenny Everett
sketch great to hear that. Two great CD's who would have thought that we
would be getting to hear all these recording's that we haven't heard before along with the one's we already have all down to Michele and Richard's hard work thankyou so very much you beautiful people.

The Rare and The Rarer Monro two FABULOUS CD's thankyou.
