Mike, have you made a mistake with the name "Paul" putting up a younger looking photo?? yes I thought you had  we have discussed this many times in the past Mike. I am a bit older than the photo suggests

Indeed I did Robert ! Ahh - so its either an old photo (which would explain the hairstyle   ) or you are aging well!

Hi all-I thought that Paul had actually posted a pic of himself at long last---but when I checked him out---he is still not there!!

Hi All,

I think we all agree that it is about time Paul posted a picture of himself on the forum! Let's all keep nagging him and maybe he will do this in the end!

Paul - You must have a nice picture of yourself somewhere!
If you are too shy to put on an up to date one then why not find one of yourself as a baby!!
At the moment we are all looking at the invisible man which I'm sure you're not. Come on Paul let's see the real you soon! :D

We've a strong feeling that Paul is somebody famous and is feeling modest and secretive about it.
We've had a couple of clues  the piano playing, the singing ad vice to Gray, it all adds up you know. However perhaps he is going to spring a surprise at the fan club meet.

Well, I can assure you that I'm not famous. Just a government worker who moonlights as a pianist/accompanist. I'll surprise you sometime with a photo. I guess I don't know how to put a photo on here and I don't have many digital photos. I also want to find one where my face is small. I like looking at all your photos, but I don't want to look at myself.

In the meantime, if it helps I've been told I look like the following people:

Rock Hudson
Oliver North
Paul McCartney
George Clooney
Burt Bacharach

Back to the Rare Monro: Will November 17 ever get here, so I can walk into HMV on Oxford Street and see the Rare Monro on the shelves and purchase it?! And there's so many other new releases and recent singles I'm interested in getting.

Hi Paul-if you look remotely like any of the names mentioned, we want to see a photo ASAP!!!!

And an ordinary photo will do---just scan it in, send it to Murph, and he does the rest .

No it's not a trade secret. It's government surveys and statistics.

Whenever I visit London, I always go to four HMVs and two Virgins Megastores. Plus I plan to go to the HMV in Uxbridge on the morning of Fans Reunited. I'm sure I'll find the Rare Monro in one of these stores. HMV has never let me down! It's the best record store ever!

Isn't "Heart Of The Man" or the "Rare Monro" available in the States, Paul??

Okay, Robert, you have given me a good laugh for the week-end! Of course, they aren't available in the States. I don't think you all understand the current state of the US record stores. It's deplorable. There's very little easy listening available in the record stores. Maybe one or two Matt Monro CDs and a few Sinatra and Streisand and Krall and Buble. The Matt Monro CDs are usually old imported compilations or on the overpriced American Collectables label.

I have bought all my Matt Monro CDs in the UK, except for one in Singapore and one in the US.

Paul - Does Tower Records still trade - I heard they were having big problems paying their bills and that some record comapnies would not deal with them anymore?

I am afraid that Dutch record stores are not great either - there are a few specialist stores, thankfully. Most of my buying is online now.
Virgin closed down here a few years back and a Dutch company Free Record is the main store on every High Street.

Hi Paul

I live in London and am a regular visitor to HMV on Oxford Street, and I can confirm they do have The Rare Munro in stock. Dean asked about Tower Records - they don't trade any longer at Piccadilly Circus, which is now run by Virgin Records (Virigin may have bought them out), though the store looks exactly the same. I didn't know about the problems Dean mentions but it certainly makes sense if they've closed down.

I do not know about Tower Records-we do not have them in this part of the country--but all the Virgin record shops down here have closed---plus "Our Price" which I used to like. All we have now are HMV or WH Smith.
