Hi Mike & John, the website you need is https//www.officialcharts.com and then scroll down and then choose Official Physical Albums you will then get Official Physical Albums Chart Top 100. Then scroll down the list and you will see Matt at Number 15.

Hope you can find it, good luck! ☺ ☺

John, glad you managed to find the charts. They are more complicated these days! 🙄

Did look in today for 1-7th May and the Physical Chart shows Matt up to number 13 from 15 and the Albums sales up to 16 from 20.

What is the difference between Album Chart Top 100 and Album Chart Sales?

The official album chart includes physical sales of CDs, vinyl records, cassettes; downloads; streaming; etc. Most of the sales come from downloads and streaming these days. That explains why Stranger in Paradise is low on that chart. Most of his fans (like me) still prefer CDs. I've downloaded only two songs in my life (for ringtones) and have streamed nothing.

The physical album chart (where Matt Monro is doing well) is just sales of CDs, vinyl records, and cassettes. In the US, Stranger in Paradise doesn't appear to have been released on vinyl or cassette. I was able to purchase it at FYE's website, which still has a few stores across the country. My preferred store/website Amoeba Music didn't have it at the time. I don't like to order music from Amazon.

Thank you Paul for making it so much clearer regarding the charts.

We also prefer to purchase CDs and we got our Matt's CD from our local HMV store which is closed now till further notice because of the Coronavirus lockdown. When things are back to normal, it is one of the first places we will visit.

Good to hear from you and hope you are keeping well.

We on the forum prefer CDs compared to downloading or streaming as we are generally older people  ………...downloading and streaming seems to be a younger persons preferred way to listen to music these days  :)

I would not know how to download or stream, much prefer a vinyl album or cd.
Even if I did know I wouldn't do it.

It would seem the CD is still selling and in the charts "Albums Sales Chart top 100" for 29th May to 4th June is up to 18 from 23 and "Physical Albums" up to 14 from 17.

It's good to see it in some charts.
