Episode 8

Post by ROBERT M. » Mon Jul 14, 2025 2:50 pm

Episode 8 which is titled …… Biographies and Matt Monro the Movie?……is available to listen to now, which I found very entertaining.
At the end of the Podcast Michele mentioned Richard Wymark as a Matt lookalike but the person is in fact Patrick Wymark. Perhaps Michele was getting confused with Richard Widmark :)

The special guest in the next Podcast is pianist and Matt fan Bobby Crush :)

Thanks Robert - Michele and I are always useless at names!

I don't even know what a podcast is or how to view them! Seconds after posting this I found out how it works but was
disappointed that its only audio, does a podcast not have video, ever?

No, we don't do a video version - we'd break your screens. Podcasts are traditionally audio. Some high-rated podcasts (with money to burn and big studios) now do video versions, but most don't. It's only two people chatting. Not that interesting visually!

Nearly all podcast platforms - you can find them all here https://podd6d.podbean.com/ - are Audio only. It's only YouTube and more recently, Spotify that carry videos.

Thanks for the explanation Richard.

We were lucky enough to be at both the book launches talked about in episode 8 and clearly remember the moment when the great George Martin and his wife arrived at EMI.it was wonderful to see him in person.
I was armed with a blank autograph book bought for the occasion but didn't have the nerve to ask anyone to sign it! We did take pictures. I think John had one with Buddy Greco and at the Ronnie Scott launch with Helen Shapiro. Bobby Crush was also at Ronnie Scotts. Two never to be forgotten events. Thank you for the invitations.
