Matt at Blackpool

Post by operathephantom » Mon Sep 17, 2007 1:27 pm

My Auntie remembers seeing Matt on the Central Pier in Blackpool, but cannot remember the year...Does anyone have any idea of when this may have been? She said that he was absolutely wonderful (as we all know he was!)

It would be nice if anyone had a picture or a poster from this time aswell. :)

Shame I never got the chance to see him live.

I think there are quite a few of us who never saw Matt performing live---and wish that we could have ....

I don't know if this was the same time Seb, but Matt appeared on the same bill as Morecambe and Wise, and singer Lena Martell, on the North Pier, Blackpool in 1963. I have a programme from that time which you can see some of on page 8 on the memorabilia page of the Scrapbook.
:D :D :D

I think he was here in 1965 as well, not too sure where though, could have been the Winter Gardens.

Central Pier would have been an odd choice I think as (although much of the theatre has changed since the 60's) even then it would have been a small venue. I'd think the North Pier would be more likely
