You don't have to have lived through an era Robert, to have an interest and considerable knowledge of that particular time.
You know I would never suggest that Lena and Harry are OLD! :o
Very well done in your quiz to our favourite YOUNG couple! :D
Marian

You are right Marian, any one of any age can gain knowledge of music of the present or of the past (must ask our Robert about Eleanor Powell.)    We don't mind getting old or even pegging out. It just depends on where, when, and what the situation is. For instance it must be strange to go to bed at night and wake up in the morning and find yourself dead.

We did enjoy the quiz night. The music quiz we found easy. It was a list of memorable songs, and naming the recording artist for each one, like we've done on the games forum here.
There was one round where shamefully we were out of time and so failed miserably.
It was working out pictures, similar to the old TV quiz game Catchphrase.  All so obvious and simple really , and this was after we'd had our brainfood.
The Fish and Chips was great John, not sure if it comes up to Blackpools' though. :) but we enjoyed it.

I think I have said before, Lena and Harry, Blackpool's fish and chips are not what they are cracked up to be.

So Matt left his bus outside a pub had a pint sang some songs and then drove off again - the little devil! :) Where was the conductor I wonder?

I was a kid in Burnley when we emigrated to Toronto (Canada) but my mom was a singer before my sister and I were born so we had lots of Matt and Shirley playing. To me, Matt had the most stunning, gorgeous, God-given perfect voice of anyone past, present and probably future. Although we've seen (Dame) Shirley many times, I have never had the privilege of seeing Matt live as he passed way too early. Although I know that Matt and Sinatra knew each other, Sinatra wasn't a patch on our Matt! I actually detested Sinatra (many reasons). I still tear up when listening to certain songs of Matt; because of THE VOICE.

100 per cent agree with you Paul about Matt, easily the best singer there has ever been, what a voice he had :)

Can I just ask where have been for the past ten years, since your last post on the MM forum
