Gray..............you said the Mighty Leeds   they once were a mighty team.................but not anymore  I think you need reporting under the Trades Descriptions Act for calling them "the Mighty Leeds"

Well, that is wonderful for Histon---that is the sort of thing that makes the FA cup so exciting---unless your team is on the losing side of course !!

Harry was out but I watched the game, and Histon were the much better side for the first half, but Leeds came back strongly in the first Twenty minutes of the second half and I was convinced that they would at least equalise. Sorry Gray, but well done to Histon.
We see they have been drawn in the 3rd round at home against Swansea City.

Hi everyone

Thanks for thinking of me!
I have to say the result yesterday has left me heartbroken.
I got all upset and cried so much I gave myself a headache. :(
Pathetic, arent I?

I thought Histon deserved the win, they coped better in the conditions, I have no excuses & good luck to them.

It's no fun being a Leeds fan :(

Sorry about Leeds, Gray. :( Does this mean that Histon joins one of the four leagues? What county is Histon in? :?:

I knew there was a reason I never liked Parkinson's TV interview show and Radio 2 show. Thanks for sharing that story Keith -- and pointing out that Matt Monro was not included, Robert.

I just reviewed the track listing of that Parkinson's life in music CD. I guess he had a pretty rough life, because that is simply an awful collection of recordings (except for These Are The Days by Jamie Cullum 8) , Moondance by Van Morrison, and One Day I'll Fly Away by Randy Crawford :D :!: ). I like a few of the other artists, but they have far superior recordings than what he selected. The fact that he doesn't include Matt Monro is unacceptable. Then he has the nerve to open disc 2 with Feeling Good by Nina Simone, whom I've heard was the meanest person in music. And she is the most overrated singer of the 20th century. Has he ever heard Feeling Good sung by Jack Jones? His recording is the definitive version of Feeling Good. :)

Sorry for being so blunt, but this collection and ignoring Matt Monro really bothers me.  :x

Thanks for your kind words Jeff.
I think Histon are in Cambridgeshire and they beat Leeds in a knockout competition.

I couldn't agree with you more regarding Parky's choices for the CD.
I was shocked and very disapointed he never chose Matt, that is bad enough, but the compilation itself is very uninspiring to me.
A big disapointment.

My commiserations too, Gray. In any other sport
the playing surface would have been deemed unplayable.
The waterlogged pitch cancelled out superior skill
and reduced the game to a lottery. However, if referees
were to postpone every match because of such conditions
the schedules would be seriously dislocated. Leeds second
half performance was worthy of a draw.
The upshot, therefore, is that little clubs like Histon benefit
and are given the opportunity to earn some badly needed income.
That is the 'magic' of the FA Cup, as they say.
Now Leeds can give their full attention to promotion.
Keith
