In my opinion The Alan Titchmarsh Show is a verdant oasis
in the desert of tedious daytime television. I seldom miss it.
Mine host is Yorkshire's Terry Wogan: warmly witty,
agreeably self-deprecating and articulate, and able to puncture
the inflated egos of his guests almost without their noticing.
Alan Titchmarsh, however, also possesses a speciality,
a quality Terry Wogan lacks.
The crooners' competition was a great idea but presented
in superficial fashion; I wish it had featured a second round involving
slow ballads, the only way properly to appraise technical prowess
such as range, breath control, interpretative skill etc.
Another quibble of mine is I wish British singers would 'refrain'
from singing in faux-American accents. Such vocal contrivances
reek of insincerity. Good luck to winner Isaacs, however.

We agree Keith, and that was what was so different with Matt. His diction and pronunciation was his own. :)

Shame Rex Harrison's not still around Robert. He could have taught them something.

Well, Rosemary Shreager who is a regular on A.T'S programme could drive you to drink.
Never mind, Terry Wogan's on there on Monday. :) :)
