I think I heard about this on the Sarah Kennedy show--I was not really sure as I was half asleep at the time, and there was no mention on Teletext.

A really unique performer.

I hadn't heard this until now. She was also a brilliant pianist and often accompanied herself, which is rare for singers. Everyone must own her Once Upon A Summertime album from the late 1950s. Every track is stunning, but the title track and It Amazes Me are incredibly special. They will take you to another world. I will listen to all my Blossom Dearie records today and tomorrow.
