ELAINE PAIGE

Post by mariana44 » Wed May 21, 2014 12:47 pm

i know this has been mentioned somewhere, but I just cannot find it--having so much trouble with this Forum right now.

I just caught up with the Elaine Paige show on Sky arts from last week, i realy enjoyed--especially when she mentioned Matt!

Really looking forward to tonight, with the lovely Micheal Feinstein, and the genius that is Tim Rice--especially interesting as they were an "item" for a long time. Also featuring music from Evita. which I love---but I guess my least favourite song is "Don't cry for me Argentina", which I think she may sing. i prefer, "Another suitcase in another hall ! or "High flying adored ! or "Id be surprisingly good for you" my 3 faves from that musical.

8) Marian ...Don't cry for me ...makes me cry  ...never used to ....but my mum loved Evita so that might be why ....see miss Saigon in July with hubby son and girlfriend and I was listening to John Suchet on Classic fm ...he said it is great ( I saw the old version 5 times ) ...and I saw on the internet an interview with the writers who said they haven't revamped it , they have reinvented it ...it is a beautiful musical ...highly recemmend ..

Who was an item Tim Rice & Michael Feinstein? Or do you mean Tim and Elaine Paige as they WERE an item.

Also where are you seeing Michael on tv or onstage?

Sorry, if I did not make sense-having so much trouble with the forum , and my internet in generasl, it is driving me mad. Yes Tim and Elaine were an item, and Michael Feinstein is on tv tonight. With Elaine Paige.

Me too Maxine, for such a nice singer her laugh is a downright dirty chuckle and just when you think she's stopped she starts all over again, she make me laugh when she laughs, I love her show too.

He was here in Evita a few months ago but as I've seen that show twice before I didn't go. I have seen Marti in The Witches Of Eastwick (fantastic) and Jekyl & Hyde. He has an amazing voice.

Looking forward to hearing about your visit to see Evita, Maxine. I would love to see it again live. When I saw it with Stephonie Laurence, I was not so familiar with the music as I am now, I find that always helps if yiou know the music--especailly when it is all singing. Do you know yet who is playing Eva Peron ?
