Very sad to see that the lovely Irish singer Val Doonican has died at the age of 88. He was a very special recording artist and made so many TV appearances over those great days of variety that is so lacking on TV today.
R.I.P. Val Doonican.

Yes, I was very sorry to read this news this morning, I was only thinking of him last night as well. Always used to watch his show on a Saturday night, another part of my childhood gone. I went to see him in Oldham about 20 years ago and he was brilliant. Thankfully I have plenty of his albums and cd's to listen to.

Val's daughter said he was not ill at all..........just that his batteries had run out ............like John, I enjoyed watching his programme on a Saturday night :) :) .................RIP Val Doonican.........very sad :( :(

Pete and I were so so sad to hear of Vals passing ... We were on holiday and saw the news in TV ... Both of us very moved .. What a dear man he was .. My dear Mum and Dad watched his show with million of others every Saturday .. God Bless you Val Doonican ... Thoughts are with is family and friends xxx R.I.P
