Yes, they always say that. Chris Martin (of Coldplay, not the Matt Monro Forum) always says the upcoming album is the best and the previous one was rubbish. He should just acknowledge that the first album Parachutes is the best work he's ever done.

It's probably because artist's are fed up with singing the old songs time after time, so the newer songs are much fresher for them :wink:
