IS THERE ANY TOMMY STEELE FANS IN THE FORUM

Post by Clint » Tue May 05, 2009 9:47 am

Is there any Tommy Steele fans in the Forum? Singing The Blues, A Handful Of Songs, Butterfly, The Only Man On The Island, to name but just a few of his songs. I was very young when he was on the go, but I always wanted to be a rocker like Tommy Steele.

My mum bought Tommy Steele's Little White Bull when I was a young lad :)

I LOVED Tommy Steele, his pics were on my bedroom wall along with Billy Fury and Marty Wilde.
I have two 10inch LP's,one called The Tommy Steele Story, and the other The Tommy Steele Stage Show. They have both seen better days due to constant playing when they were bought.
Also saw him quite a few years ago at Nottingham in a show called 'Oh What A Show'.
Don't know what he is doing now.
My favourite song has always been 'Butterfingers'.

We always liked "Singing The Blues" Clint, it was the song that was always associated with Tommy Steele.
He had a great personality and always had such a happy smile on his face.
Guy Mitchell of course recorded the song too.
Sandra, we remember so well how popular Tommy Steele was on TV and the most recent time we saw him was when he appeared on the Alan Titchmarsh afternoon show. He doesn't appear to be doing very much these days.

I always enjoyed Tommy Steele too Clint and went to see him on stage when I was a teenager. He was/is a great all round entertainer. :D
