:!: :) It was very interesting when Tom Jones admitted lowering the key a half-step on Delilah. I didn't even notice that it was in A flat rather than A when he performed it. Then Michael Ball said he lowers Love Changes Everything a half-step so he doesn't sing the high B flat.

They both were rather embarrassed to admit these tricks. It was actually kind of cute.

It sounded like a fun interview between Tom and Michael :) ...................going back to Matt, it just proves what everyone knows...............he was just one of the lad's, who enjoyed a few beers and a couple (well, a lot) of cigarettes :)

Jeff, did Tom Jones sing Thunderball when you saw him a week or so ago?

Frank Sinatra and Elvis went to see Tom perform in Las Vegas, Tom also hung around with them after the shows 8) if Frank went to see Tom, then why did he not go and see our Matt in concert too ?? :(

I was wondering the same thing Robert. I've read that Frank Sinatra never met Matt Monro. If Mr Sinatra hung out with so many other singers, why didn't he go to Matt Monro's concerts and meet him afterwards? Could it be jealousy? It is said he considered Matt Monro the greatest English singer. :?

Gray -- Tom Jones didn't sing Thunderball. :( It wasn't a big hit in the US, but the film was popular. And he may be afraid he'll pass out after sustained high note. :)

Jeff, many other famous singers saw Matt in concert :) so with FS it is strange, as he has said Matt was one of the three top singers in the business :?

Oh, I forgot those two.

I know that Bing Crosby and Mel Torme are also often mentioned amongst the greatest male voices.

Vic Damone, Nat King Cole and for our Marians Jack Jones and Johnny Mathis should also be considered too  :)

Ture, but with sincerest apologies to John, I don't think Vic Damone quite makes the upper echelon.

As long as you don't mention or include Mr Goulet in the upper echelon, Robert.
