I have been to the Royal Festival Hall, and thought it was a lovely place---once you knew where you were going!! I got lost several times inside.

Plus it is one of the few places where it is feasible to get my last train home---10.30 from Charing Cross.

Try doing that from the Royal Albert Hall after a 10.00 finish

Thanks Marian and Marian for the explanation of Warner holidays and Wembley. :)

The Warner properties do look very nice on its website. We don't have a chain like that in the US; we have individual B&Bs but I don't care for that concept. It sounds like I can't really stay at a Warner property for an evening, or two, but need to purchase a package.

I think I'll stay away from the Wembley area for awhile ... sounds too congested and uncomfortable.

Perhaps Royal Festival Hall looks better inside than outside. I didn't find the exterior to be attractive. The last time I was in that area, there was so much construction.

Yes Paul--Wembley was very busy last September--lots of building work going on all over the place.

The theatre in the Royal Festival Hall is lovely--although it is some years since I was last there.

Hi John in reply to your question, we would have liked to get to Liverpool because we know it will be a good night and we would have loved to have met you there, but we have a meeting to attend that day, were hoping it would be a morning one and would perhaps give us time to get there, but it's afternoon. We know you will enjoy it.
We are at Southend on the 14th, we were there last time and had a great night. Will tell you all about it and how it goes.

We've seen Jack Jones during his last two tours at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, and enjoyed the venue both times (and the show!) The first time we went there was snow on the ground and it was a bitterly cold, but last year was lovely. You can sit in the foyer enjoying a cuppa, looking out over the estuary and watch the boats.
Enjoy your Al Martino concerts. Look forward to hearing all about them.

Hi Marian, thank you very much, im sure we will enjoy the concerts and yes the Cliffs Pavillion is a very nice venue with a lovely view, and from outside the star performers name is displayed in huge letters in coloured neon lighting making it visible even from quite a distance away, it's the first thing that you see. :)
As you say Marian a nice place for a cuppa too. This appearance the 14th co-insides with St Valentines Day, so lots of nice songs to fit the occasion we hope.

Hi Marian

Did Jack Jones sing What I Did For Love?
His version is absolutely wonderful.

I don't think he did on this occasion Terence. I agree though he sings it beautifully.

Hi Paul, Marian et al

the Royal Festival Hall is currently undergoing major refurbishment and is not accessible at the moment, but is due to reopen in summer 2007. I often go down there to the South Bank as I enjoy browsing in the record shop they have there, which covers mainly classical and jazz, and the National Film Theatre as well.

Ah!! that possibly explains why Neil Sedaka did not play there last year, but went to The Royal Albert Hall!!

il be going to littlecote on 11th february to see al, a few friends of mine are backing him.

warners venues arent too bad, i have done a few of them myself, the best being the one in hereford and noottingham, they are more like the cabaret clubs used to be in the 70s when all the top artistes would appear. there are very few cabaret venues left now in this country so at least warner is keeping that going. i agree though that it can be hard when a lot of people book for the break regardless who is appearing , then you are just on the menu as it were rather that appearing excusively to fans. thats showbiz!!.

You'll have to tell us Mark, especially myself and Lena and Harry, how you enjoy the concert. I am not seeing him until the 19th, a week or so later. I am sure he will be fab!
