Any Shirley Bassey Fans out there?
Hi Hilary and Marian,
Hope all well? I like the top hat! As you said Glastonbury did Mr Bennett (my namesake) no harm at all. I still believe Shirl's new single will make the charts.
Have a great day all you Forumites - for the 3rd day in succession it's been perfect Spring days here in Neath, South Wales.

Hi Mariana (the great Mathis fan!)
My partner Margaret went out last night to a Drama Club reading so I had the house to myself! I played the whole of the Mathis 50th Celebration Concert - what a voice! I had a stool for Christmas (I know it sounds an unusual present!) but I used it for the first time in a Hotel last Monday where I was entertaining - and guess, Mariana, which song encouraged me to use the stool for the first time? Of course The Twelfth of Never!!!!

I'm just beginning to realise how many witty people are on this Forum! Thanks for the message. I live less than a mile from Cimla and indeed later today, when my car returns from it's MOT, I'll be driving through Cimla on my way to the beautiful Pontrhydyfen where I jog on a Wednesday. The village of course is where Richard Burton was born! A truly beautiful area known as Little Switzerland because of the pine trees surrounding the valley with the River Afan meandering beneath them! I can't wait!!
Hi Bill--yes that is a great concert---amazingly brilliant now that he is 71--I find that hard to believe. Yes the version of "Twelth of Never" on a stool, makes it almost sound like a different song-I cannot tell you the amount of times I have seen him on that stool, with Gil playing beside him--just magic !!
Mariana
Hi Marian
It may surprise you, but no, I didn't know that Johnny Mathis was lined up to sing "Moonraker". What a pity he didn't, though; he could have featured it on one of his albums at least.
Hello Bill, from one Welshman to another (though I don't know your part of the Principality). Nice to hear about your Johnny Mathis impression on the stool (like Mariana44, I'm another big JM fan) - I can just visualise it. Keep up the good work.

Welcome back Hilary. Please stay with us in the future, as we miss reading your posts very much. We even discussed your disappearance a while ago. Where have you been hiding yourself these past few months
Hope you come back to answer my question Hilary.
In Yorkshire we have had thick fog all last night, then it turned to low cloud, but the sun is out now, probably for just a short while. All you other memebers "darn sarf" don't know how lucky you are with the weather. I believe it reached 18 degrees in London yesterday, not bad for March, as that's about our summer temperature up here
