Robert M, if Susan Boyle neaded subtitles are you trying to make a fool of her? and as for you cmartin_ok about Susan Boyle being from Barcelona, and knowing nothing, I bet in the near future she will have a record contract, and why is she not singing in Spanish? and as for knowing nothing, at least she had the guts to enter the compition, and she will never be poor again.

Clint, I think you may have misunderstood , both Robert's and Chris's remarks here---firstly Robert said that subtitles were needed for American viewers, not British viewers, who are more accustomed to a Scottish accent.

Secondly, the remark about coming from Barcelona, originated from Susan herself, and if you remember seeing her in the semifinals, when she was asked a question, she replied "I know nothing, I know nothing ", in a voice like Manuel from Fawlty Towers, who as we know , came from Barcelona. And in fact either Ant or Dec mentioned Barcelona--but it was just a joke !!

I am sure that both Robert and Chris agree that Susan is an amazing singer, who will go far.

The large "smiley" at the end of my post should have been a clue that I was joking.
Simon Cowell apologised to her for the remarks made at her first appearance. I think she was so overcome at the time that she didn't realise what they were saying to her, so she did a very poor impersonation of "Manuel" from "Fawlty Towers"... "I come from Barcelona and I know nothing"... in other words, I didn't hear a word, or understand a word, that you spoke
