Hi Everyone,

Tony Christie has a new CD out on Monday 6th November.
You can re-order this one from HMV now for only £8.99.

The CD is called "Simply in love." This is a collection of Tony's favourite songs. Here is the track list:-

1. Stranger in Paradise 2. The more I see you
3. You've got a friend
4. Sanfransisco
5. Life on Mars
6. Rainy days and Mondays
7. Moon River
8. My funny valentine
9. People will say we're in love
10. This guy's in love with you
11. Light my fire
12. Every breath you take
13. If I love you
14. Danny boy

Tony has also been recording in Nashville this year and early next year he will release another CD. This time ALL the tracks will be original ones.
Tony has been working with the record producer Artie Butler on this one.

The new CD will contain some of Tony's own songs plus others that he has written with fellow song writers.
The untitled CD will be a gospel/country one with a choir and full orchestra.

Tony is touring the UK in the Autumn to promote the "Simply in love" CD.
Another tour is planned for early next year to promote the gospel/country CD. Look out for Tony.......he is coming back again!! :D

Thanks for the info on Tony Christie's latest CD Hilary, and his tour looks interesting from our point of view, we see that it is to include Ronnie Scotts here in London, which we understand has had a recent makeover and refurbishing. :)

Hi all,

Here is a VERY nice review of Tony's new CD from Phil Fletcher.
Phil has been a fan of Tony's for over 35 years, (Phil started listening to Tony when he was only 5 years old!)

Phil writes "Simply in love" is the long awaited new album from Tony Christie. It contains 14 of his favourite classic songs. It also represents a change of direction for Tony. Here is a more mature gentle relaxed sound rather than the power house vocal which has became his trademark over the years. The songs are beautifully crafted with the help of a superb jazz quartet that compilments Tony's singing style to a tee.
My Funny Valentine is a superb track, also hear Moon river and San Francisco, songs that made Tony want to became a singer.
A great version of Light my fire, James Taylor's you've Got a friend and Bowie's Life on Mars all given the Christie treatment.
A haunting version of Danny Boy, just Tony's voice and with Martin Taylor on guitar.....wonderful. Stranger in Paradise has a great feel to it and the album closes with the classic god only knows with Paul Flush on piano.

Phil goes on to say - Having played this album over 20 times, I ask myself why has it taken so long.....but the time is right.
So go out and buy this album and go and see Tony peform these songs live on tour. You will see why I have been a fan for over 35 years and why I give "Simply in love".......5 stars

Taken from Tony's official website www.tonychristie.com

Thanks Phil for a lovely review. Let's hope the CD does VERY well for Tony in the album chart. :D

Hi Hilary--that sounds a great cd--I will preorder it shortly.

Although Robert is not quite accurate--only 1 song from "Carousel" plus one from "Oklahoma"--nice selection of songs nevertheless.
