Gray, I have to agree with you. Most stars don't know what to do once the limelight starts to fade. The BCR's, David Cassidy, etc all victims to what am I going to do next and this is all I know how to do. There are the versitile stars like Dusty who seem to reinvent themselves and then the resurgence and interest in them starts up. Just like when she was with the Pet Shop Boys, and with Sandie Shaw and The Smiths.

Anyway, Dusty In Memphis was really big here in the US. A indie company called 4 Men with Beards re-released the album on 180gm Vinyl. My folks have the "Everything's Coming Up Dusty" lp and I love it. I forgot if there was an American equivalent..(Karl help!!!)

Like you Gray, I too had to be retrained in my careers and it is hard once you got use to doing one thing for so many years and then start something new.

To answer both Gray & Eamon (Eman).

Dusty said at the start of her her career "It's Marvellous To Be Popular, But Foolish To Think It Will Last", well it did, ok she had lean years but she came back with a big selling album "Reputation". Nobody was more pleased than I when she got to around 15 in the chrarts with it, it was also great to see people buyiign her records again.

Eamon Ev'rything's Coming Up Dusty appeared very briefly in the States, it was then re-packaged with the same sleeve but titled You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, her US LP The Look Of Love was in similar vein as it was a re-package of Where Am I Going in the UK. Both have almost identical tracks give or take a few songs.
