I wish Jack wouuld do some promotion to help sell tickets for this tour which is not so far off now.

Petula Clark is working her socks off promoting her new cd and tour and her tour is not until October.

I called the Usher Hall last week as I was concerned about the lack of tickete sales (checked it online), I really want to see him this time and if Edinburgh is cancelled then I will go to the Glasgow concert. The box office assured me they will not cancel that would have to come from JJ's management.

Marian if you read this perhaps you can get a message to Jack ?

It's not up to Jack but his promoters Karl. Mark Fox tried to contact (Robert Pratt of Chimes International) as he has 500 members who are very interested in seeing Jack, but no reply. I see the adverts were only in the Sunday papers for two weeks at the most, they just seem disinterested in doing their job. :x It's always been the same. Maybe that is why this is to be his final U.K.tour!

I know it's the promoters Marian but I feel Jack has been in the business long enough to know he needs to do some promotion, it was ok in the days when his albums sold well but now he's not even signed to a label. I well remember the tv ad for Jack Jones All To Yourself but that was back in the 70's. He should get himself booked onk The One Show and things like that and plug the tour.

He only comes over a couple days before the tour. He might do some TV then, but he never comes across as his best in interviews, especially jet lagged!

Jack's tour has been advertised in all Three of our latest magazines, all popular magazines, IN TUNE. PERFECTLY FRANK, AND THE BEAT. :) but we agree promoting is vital.. we realised how much when Al Martino appeared here, and relied solely on word getting out in the towns where he was appearing. Some good full houses some barely half full.

Some of the best concerts I've been at were not full, Ray Conniff, Franke Valli & 4 Seasons, Lou Rawls, Petula Clark, The 4 Seasons concert wa smany years ago (early 70's I think) but they were all fantastic. Somehow that problem seems to make them work even harder to win over the audience but it's a shame for the performer.

Although I have known Jackie Trent for many years, apart from a musical High Society I have only seen her onstage one other time in concert in Glasgow with Tony Hatch, the theatre was almost empty but the show was great - the reason was Cliff Richard was on in another theatre close by.

I really hope Jack gets quite a full house if not completely full.

Though I'm far away and can't see him even if he's on telly, I agree with Karl. Get that legendary vocalist on TV! 8)

We saw the great Matthew Ford with a fantastic quartet in concert last night :D

He sang his lovely version of Jack Jones 'Day In The Life Of A Fool' and asked the audience if anyone had seen him live.

A few people had,so he asked them whether they preferred him with an orchestra or a quartet?
They had seen him with an orchestra.Matt had seen both but thought he prefered him with a quartet.
What is the opinion all of you who have seen him live?

Incidentally, the pianist Paul Sawtell was superb,Ian Laws on guitar had played on several of the Bond scores plus loads of other backings.Jeremy Brown on bass is usually seen in many of the Proms concerts, and Neil Bullock on drums had backed many artistes including Jane Macdonalds latest tour. :D :D

It sounds like you had a lovely evening Sandra.

I've seen every JJ tour since 1983 and I've never seen him with an orchestra, although I would like to!
He usually brings his trio with him from the U.S. and has a few U.K. musicians join them to make up a small band. I would like to hear his ballads accompanied with strings though.
:D

I prefer "A day in the life of a fool" sung in it's original version, which is Spanish, --"Manha de Carnaval".
