Today's edition of The Guardian, which can also be read online, features an interview with Doris Day by Paul McCartney, who is apparently a long-standing friend of hers.

Thanks for the notice Lena and Harry. I just listened to it. I've never heard the opening verse before. Earlier in the programme he played Ohio which was wonderful. I just love her!

Do you mean you are arriving this Friday--[2nd] or Friday [9th].

Do you have your itinery for the New Forest yet---some really lovely places in that area.

It has turned colder in the last few days, and I gather that is how it will stay--but hopefully it will remain dry.
I meant Friday, the 9th. The weather has indicated high temps in the low 60s and lows in the mid 50s. That's still shorts season!

I'm looking forward to the New Forest. Saturday will be Beaulieu. There's a huge auto show there that weekend, but I want to focus on the Beaulieu attractions, especially the National Motor Museum. Sunday will be Exbury Gardens, which features a traditional roast (and the gardens and train of course).

That is all sounding good, Paul---I can see the next 2 weeks are going to whizz by for you !!

You are probably about right temperature wise--yesterday was like a summers day, just beautiful--we have not had enough days like that this year. It is just as easy to wait and see, because the weather men seem to get it wrong every time !!

Thanks for that Lena & Harry, I just read Radio Times - however the 9pm show is repeated at 11.50 and the show at 10.00pm is repeated at 12.50 and the show at 10.55 is repeated at 1.45 so it's not the Doris Day bonanza you hopefully expected!

   Having read the Radio Times we are aware of the repeats, and Three hours will be adequate for us, but night owls may be grateful.... Now, must take my medication. :!:

Paul MaCartney recently interviewd Doris Day. Here is a snippet that appeared in the Daily Telegraph.

"The 87-year-old Doris Day is releasing My Heart, an album of cover songs, including material by the likes of The Beach Boys and Joe Cocker as well as new tracks written by her Byrds-producer son Terry Melcher (who died in 2004).

McCartney says: "I think your fans will go crazy with it. It's a nice album with beautiful emotions. Is it true when you sing Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" you are singing about the beauty you find in animals?"

To which Day replies: "Well I do find the beauty in animals. I find beauty everywhere."

Her new cd has just been advertised on the TV, the clips that they played sounded nice. I am sure it will race to the top of the album charts, hopefully. :)
