We really enjoyed the Doris Day evening, particularly the story of her rise to fame in the first programme and the interview from 1992 (I think). She looked SO good.
The Doris Day show was typical of it's time, but good to see one of Matts favourite singers Perry Como on it.

Yes, I enjoyed the Doris Day show with Perry Como as well Sandra, I have it on an old video tape somewhere, but the quality wasn't so good on that, nice to see it in excellent quality, although I think it is on dvd now. Nice to see she made the top 10 in the album charts coming in at number 9. :D

Doris has made chart history :) her new album entered the album top 10, and at 87 Doris is the oldest ever female to reach the top 10 with an album of "new" songs :) .................Dame Vera did reach #1, but with old songs

But to be honest the songs on Doris' album can hardly be described as 'new' when they've been in the vaults for years! It's not like it's newly recorded.

Karl, the song's can be classed as "new" songs, as they have never been released to the general public before, so the songs are new Doris Days songs that her fans can listen to for the first time ever :)

So is Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries a different take from the version that was released on her last 'new' cd?

I'll bet a lot of newer, younger fans who don't know her that well and don't realisew how old she is may think this is a brand 'new' cd!

Yes, we played it a couple of nights ago John, and thought it was really good, but Doris Day can do no wrong as far as we are concerned. :) :)

Today (April 2) would have been Doris Day's 100th birthday.

I'm listening to her music all day today, and I watched a BBC documentary that Mariana from Kent sent me several years ago. Mariana sent me so many DVDs and CDs over the years. I need to re-watch them. Doris Day was such an incredible singer with so many signature songs.

I'm remembering Doris and Mariana.
