The Definitive Dusty

Post by karl » Tue Dec 20, 2011 7:37 pm

I received my copy of DUsty's new box set today, 4 cd's, 3 dvd's and two books.

The first dvd I watched contained two shows The Springfields recorded for tv in 1961 and as we never had a tv then this is new to me and it's wonderful. The dvd then goes on to VInce Hill's series They Sold A Million with Dusty as his guest so VInce is seen briefly introducing Dusty.

Some of the cd's contain many alternate takes and Live tracks from tv, also the inclusion of yet another song called "Goodbye" which is a different song from the other two that were released over the years, this new find was written by Spike Milligan.

There is also an abridged version of this set called "The Magic Of Dusty Springfield" which is much cheaper and our friend in San Diego (Eamon) has already treated himself to it and he's hoping the man in the red suit will bring the full set for Christmas!!!!!

Karl, thanks for the plug. Yep "The Magic of Dusty Springfield" has 3 cds and 1 dvd. It's a pretty cool set. Listened to Disc 1 but haven't had time to listen or watch the other discs.
