Be Warned. Hallmark is not the label it used to be. It now only sells public domain material usually transfered from horrible quality vinyl discs and then has all the life sucked out of them by ridiculous amounts of noise reduction. I once bought one and it was unlistenable. I threw it away! - It was so cheap It wasn't worth returning!

I have on occasion checked newer titles to see if anything has improved - in vain!

I know they are cheap but they are usually awful!

The reviewer said that about the Buddy Greco disc Richard, however I agree they used to be a reputable label. I just bought two new Johnny Mathis titles and they sound alright.

Why are they doing this if they sound so bad? They release some great titles but we want a decent sound!

Hallmark used to be an imprint connected to CBS records (now Sony) They shut it down some time in the 1990's and sold off the name. It is now an independant company and onl releases poor quality disc dubs which have ridiculous amount of computer processing done to them destroying the sound.

Think of it as a priceless painting that has been 'restored' using a brillo pad and sulphuric acid!

I will go back to Amazon and try and cancel my order--shame, as there were some nice tracks on there.

Marian I didn't bother cancelling mine as it was so cheap, I have other cd's by Buddy from America that are good, one has three albums on (I think) two cd's.

Jasmine and Sepia release old albums on cd, they are more expensive but the quality is good - you don't mind paying more for good quality. I really don't understand Hallmark releasing sub-standard cd's. I will post what I think of Buddy's cd when it arrives.

It's on the way so I'll let you know, if it's rubbish I've only lost £2.77.

I hope some better companies like Sepia or Jasmine give us some Buddy material soon, why bother releasing them if they can't make a proper job of it?

I'm listening to Buddy now and it sounds alright to me.

I like his unusual style, he's different and I like that - he has quite a quirky style - unpredictable.

I was ironing as I listened to this, for the last track I was nearer the cd player, it doesn't sound as good as other cd's but it's not that bad. It's a good album though.
