A friend recommended Alfie Boe to me so I ordered the following cds:
Storyteller, Alfie, and Bring Him Home. Anyone have any reviews on these? I looked him up on you tube and I like what I heard. I know he's been mentioned here before.

Marian is a big fan of Alfie Boe, and has seen him live seferal timnes, I believe. Personnaly, I prefer him singing songs from the musicals, as opposed to crossing over into pop style songs, as on his latest cd "Storyteller"

Thanks Mariana, I liked what I heard on you tube after a friend mentioned him to me. I didn't know he did crossover pop!

Alfie is great on classical cd's but his new cd Storyteller is the best he's made snce joining Decca. I have tickets to see him in March and he was almost sold out when I booked.

Hello Eman, Alfie began with Opera, and he has several CDs from opera performances, and then he crossed over to more musical appearances when he was offered the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables on the London Stage. I first saw him in the 25th Anniversary of Les Mis. Since then I have the DVD of the perfomance, and since I have collected all his Cds, but still prefer his earlier opera CDS. I have seen him live in his show at the Royal Festival Hall in London. His wife is American, and he has toured many venues in America, and he has many fans over there. He also has a biography "Alfie" which would tell you all about him, available from Amazon.

Thanks Karl and Marian for the feedback. The more I watch him, the more I like him!! I'm betting my Mum will like him also, though I'm wondering if my Dad will. He's a Boccelli man!! LOL

Did anyone see Alfie's interview with Fern Britton on tv this morning? Great programme, quite emotional at times.
He's certainly been on an unbelievable journey!

Alfie will also be on the Saturday Kitchen programme in the morning. I saw him on the Strictly prog tonight, I wondered if he had a haircut and taken off the beard for Movember. He looked more like the earlier Alfie of old.

I thought he looked different Marian, but he is on TV and radio so much, I wish he would change the songs that he sings so regularly.

I am not sure how I missed Alfie singing on "Strictly"-I must have dozed off for a moment or two !!
But just to say that I saw the new cd "Storyteller" in Sainburys at only £6.99---I cannot see how it would be less than that anywhere---I also spotted that Rod Stewart has a new box set out--also called-----
"Storyteller"

It's okay Marian, he didn't sing on the show last night, but he is singing on the results show tomorrow.
He will be singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" Lena and Harry.
