Elvisi made many great records but this week I have been playign Suspicious Minds a few times, that is a fantastic production, backing singers, drummers etc and I think it's one of his very best. I bought the single all those years ago but now have it on a cd.

I am puzzled thought why it starts to fade and then comes back - it's a good effect but there has to be a reason behind it. Richard do you have any knowledge on it? As far as I know no other record has done that.

I'm afraid not Karl. There are a few others that do it, Alternate Title by the Monkees for one and I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that Strawberry Fields does it as well.

Probably just a gimmick - or to annoy DJ's!

I think there are other mixes of Suspicious Minds that don't do this.

Now that you mention it Richard I do remember some Beatles tracks doing that, haven't played their albums for awhile. I was never into The Monkees although some of their singles were rather good.
