Hi Lena, Harry and Marian,

It is good to see Russell on the road to recovery.
Russell has said that the doctors weren't able to remove all of his tumour and he will have to live with the possibility of it returning in the future.

At least Russell has a positive attitude which has helped him through the tough times. He does have a lot of support from his family, friends and fans. :D

We watched the programme last night about the history of Russell's recovery from his brain tumour operations.
What a terrible time he's been through, and it was really brave of him to talk about the experience as he did.
Especially having to say goodbye to his two young daughters when he thought it really was going to be a final goodbye.
Thankfully, it turned out not to be.
There were touches of humour even when the lights went out in a power cut, and he thought his optic nerve had snapped and he'd gone blind.
Hopefully he will not have to go through such bleak times again, but the thought must always stay with him.
We wish Russell all the best for the future, and for his upcoming tour.
A friend of ours has booked for two concerts, so hopefully I will get a full report of how they go.

We watched it too Marian, but we thought how well he looks now in spite of going through Two serious ops.
There is the fear that it may come back again, but his confidence has returned and we wish him well and hope the tour is successful.

Russell was on Paul O'Grady's show tonight. He told a nice tale about while he and Charlotte Church were waiting to rehearse with Pavarotti for a concert in Hyde Park. They were summoned to a waiting area and he said they felt like naughty children waiting outside the headmaster's office.
After about a ten minute wait they were ushered into Pavarotti's presence. He was sitting on a bench size seat swathed in brilliant white towels which emphasised the blackness of his hair and beard. Russell said he really felt they were in the presence of someone really great.
Anyway, Pavarotti then told them to sit one at either side of him. He said to Russell, "when I point at you, you sing" and then turning to Charlotte,"when I point at you, you sing....Rehearsal over!"

We do watch Paul O' Grady now and again but missed this one Mark.
Do you mean you hate the song Me & Mrs Jones or Russell's version. ??
Haven't heard this yet.

I think I am with Mark on this one--I cannot stand that song-no matter who sings it.

Johnny Mathis had an album out at one time [LP only] called "Me and Mrs Jones" which had some really lovely songs on it--apart from the title track !!!

I always thought Jack Jones might include this song in his performances, when there was a Mrs, but as far as I know he never has.
He has started including Have you Met Miss Jones this year though, after showing a filmed duet singing with his daughter Nicole.
We first met Miss Nicole Jones at six weeks of age, when she accompanied Jack and Kim on the tour bus, surely the youngest ever to tour the U.K!
