When we went to the "Palm Springs Follies" last week, the guest artist was Maureen McGovern....
I remembered her hit from 1973 which she sang - "The Morning After", but it was the other 3 songs that were outstanding........
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "The Man That Got Away" & "Blues in the Night". She still can hold those high notes at Age 64 !!
Check out these versions on "You Tube" with live concerts from 1991 and MDS show from 2010.
Maybe Robert can post the code to download these as you will enjoy them.....

Maureen McGovern also shares a recording with JJ many years ago. The name of it has slipped my mind at the moment though.
She is also on the Larry King TV show with Jack, Margaret Whiting and Michael Feinstein all singing different songs around a piano with Michael playing.

I love Maureen Mcgovern and have every one of her cds. She is a very underrated singer. I believe that her recording oif "~The Morning after" was from the film "~The Poseidon Adventure". My favourite cd from her is where she sings the songs of Marilyn and Alan Bergman,
and my favourite song from her is "On my way to you "

Oh Maureen McGovern.. I love her. Like Henry I first heard of her from the song "The Morning After" and bought the album I loved it. Then again in 1979 when she recorded "Can You Read My Mind" from Superman on her self-titled lp which also had another of my favourite songs "Different Worlds" and her cover of "He's A Rebel". I also loved her 1980 song "We Could Have It All Again" another movie theme but I forgot which one. It's good to see and hear she's still active singing.
