Has anyone seen them yet on their tour? They played two nighs in Glasgow this week but I can't find any reviews.

I haven't seen any reviews of the Glasgow concerts as yet Karl, but many excellent comments, some great reviews on all the other venues on facebook. Amazing, outstanding are included in the comments. When I see a review of the Glasgow concerts I will post it on here for you Karl, I expect there will be a review over the weekend.

Here’s a great review of last night’s concert at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow; it’s written by Keith Bruce of ‘Herald Scotland’.

“I can be as sniffy as anyone about aged acts "milking it" beyond their legitimate lifespan, but some bands have earned the right to transcend such criticism.

The longevity of The Seekers - far outlasting the cola-endorsing New Seekers that original member Keith Potger created to succeed them - puts them in a class apart.

In case we were in any doubt of that, their 50th anniversary, and final farewell tour opens with footage of their appearance at the Wembley arena New Musical Express poll-winners' concert from 1965, where their fellow gong-wearing performers were The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Such film segments are part of the delight of an artfully put-together show that also included film of the youthful quartet (all still present) on trains and swanky yachts (eat your heart out, Duran Duran) as well as on the building site of Sydney Opera House.

These young Australians had the benefit of Tom Springfield as their main songwriter (I'll Never Find Another You, A World Of Our Own), but they also had the mix of pop sensibility, a folk and skiffle background, and gospel and trad jazz vocals that perfectly suited the changing and developing tastes of the time.

Those last ingredients came with vocalist Judith Durham, the last addition to the group and the woman whose survival of a brain haemorrhage is responsible for their current activity. A ridiculously youthful-looking 70, it is her voice that is the truly astonishing thing about their live form.

On the closing performances of Georgy Girl and encore The Carnival Is Over (both Springfield tunes) she sounds little different from the girl who was25 when the group first called it a day.”

Yes agree with John, in fact all of them were in great voice still - Keith Potger really should still be able to get all those high harmonies, but does so still with ease!

Didn't bump into John - just too many people. Must have been a sell out.

I'll leave John to review tomorrow and add by fourpenny worth later.
