RONNIE CARROLL

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Mon Apr 13, 2015 11:10 pm

Sad to hear that singer Ronnie Carroll has died at the age of 80.
His first hit was "Walk Hand In Hand" and he was the first artist to represent the UK in the Eurovision Son Contest for Two successive years , but mostly remembered for his 1962 number..."Roses Are Red "
Have got a photo taken with him at a Warner's Holiday Camp in the 70s.
We also saw him and Millicent Martin regularly at the Finchley Bowling Club.
R.I.P. Ronnie Carroll.

Sorry to read this. I like him and have got a few of his singles and albums, he had a very pleasant voice. I was only listening to a cd of his the other day.

RIP Ronnie Carroll :( ...............as L&H have said Ronnie represented the UK at Eurovision in 1962 and 63 ..........he was to stand as an independent candidate at the forthcoming General Election in May in the Hampstead constituency.
