PAUL HEATON

I know that I have mentioned him before, but I have just seen Paul Heaton on "Loose Women"--does anyone else like him?

I thought he was great with "the Housemartins"--just brilliant in "Beautiful South" and now he is working solo---I think for quite a while now.

His music and lyrics fascinate me--his new cd is called "Cross eyed Rambler" and the single he sang was called "Mermaids and Slaves"--and even though I did not really know what it is about [yet], I loved it.

CD on order already from HMV.

I was watching " Loose Women" today Marian, and must confess I didn't remember Paul Heaton or know him from Adam, but of course I have heard of "The Beautiful South," and enjoyed what he sang, but not enough to get hooked.

Marian, I watched the video of the song on Youtube, I thought it was quite catchy.

Interesting how the Housemartins started up. They all lived in the same Street in Hull and Heaton (who I think is from Birkenhead) went knocking on the doors asking if anyone wanted to join his group. Fat boy slim was one of them. I wasn't a big fan of the Housemartins or the Beautiful South but I can see that Heaton is quite a clever guy.

Paul Heaton was on The Politics Show at lunchtime today, talking against Faith Schools.

There aren't many contemporary artists that I like, but "The Beautiful South" is one band that I don't mind at all. I was sad to hear that Paul had called it a day with them a while back

Paul Heaton is making solo albums now--the latest was released just a few months back--I loved him when he was with "The Beautiful South"--not sure if he will make it on his own, although the music is similar
