Hi Everyone,
As well as Matt, I am a big fan of Eva.
For any Eva fans out there, Blix Street Records are releasing a brand new CD on Monday 25th August.
The CD is called "Somewhere" and all of the tracks are new to Eva fans.
Some of the tracks are live recordings and others are studio recordings. The tapes were found recently having been lost for years.

That sounds very interesting Hilary.
Will it be available to buy everywhere, or just a specialist dealer?

Hi Marian,
The new CD from Eva will be available from all good record shops and you can order on line as well.

'Over the Rainbow' by Eva Cassidy was played at my best friend's husband's funeral last year. Now I can't hear Eva without feeling so sad.

My best friend's son in law was buried just yesterday-only 50---and Eva Cassidy's "Songbird" was played.

Morning all,
Over the weekend I have heard two tracks from the LOVELY new Eva CD.
"My love is like a red, red rose" and "Coat of many colours".
Can't wait for the end of August when the CD is available in the shops.

I'm probably the only one on the forum Barry, but Eva Cassidy's voice does little for me.

I agree with you, Lena & Harry.
However, I think Eva Cassidy compensates
for her lack of vocal quality with signature
guitar accompaniment and unique presentational
arrangement of her songs.

I'll be joining your group, Lena and Harry and Keith.
I think the only recording I liked was Fields of Gold. She started Over The Rainbow tenderly, but then turns into this little girl/R & B diva wannabe towards the end --- with no control of her voice. This made the recording completely uninteresting to me. I prefer the vocal performance to be consistent within a song -- then the emotion becomes more clear.

Sorry guys! Eva Cassidy is FANTASTIC!!!!! The best female singer to come out of the US since Dolly. Totally disagree with your comments, I cry whenever I hear her..... Perhaps it reminds me of my childbirth experiences as this is what I listened to under a lot of pain!!

Hi Amanda, Eva Cassidy's voice is liked and admired by so many and that's really nice that her singing helped to soothe your pain when needed, it's just that it actually causes me pain and makes me cry
but that's the different effects that music has on us
