I don't think those songs are ageing well, Robert. They sound a bit stuck in the 1950s and 1960s. :( That's why Matt Monro's music is sublime. It is timeless and will always sound beautiful. :)

I'm with Robert-I really liked those tracks-I remember them well--although I do not think I have ever actually seen the actual singers before.

I suppose they do stir a glimmer of the memories of old 78s of the time Robert. Quite nice to be able to look back to those times.
I noticed Diana by Paul Anka on the same page as Paul and Paula, I remember this well as I saw Paul Anka sing it live when he was a chubby fifteen year old on stage in Cardiff, around the first time I also saw The John Barry Seven.

With you on Bobby Vee Robert and Gray. The perfect 1.5 min pop song singer! Love the line in 'staying in' is 'he was saying things that weren't true about her - so I let him have it in the cafeteria!'

We like most of the oldies stuff though,  but your mention here Mike reminded me of a story. My cousin who is an active stalwart for pensioners in her area was encouraging one foreign lady who had recently moved in to the area to come and to join in the group activities.
She confessed to my cousin that she had recently received a suspended sentence for stabbing her ex-partner in the quinns. My curious and quizzical cousin later heard from a neighbour that she had stabbed him in The QUEENS ARMS public house.
