Did anyone like Michael Holliday, The Story Of My Life, Starry Eyed, Stairway Of Love, just to name a few of his records, The Story Of Love and Starry Eyed got to No 1 in the Charts. I thought it was so sad that he took his own life in the 29th of October 1963 taking a overdose because in 1961he took a mental breakdown, also he had stage fright. He was a Crooner just like Bing Crosby, some people said that it was hard to tell the diffrence between them.

Yes Clint, I think Michael Holliday has quite a few fans here.
I remember the songs you mention very well, especially The Story Of My Life
and Starry Eyed. Stairway of Love I remember more by Terry Dene, as I still have the record.
Michael was another talented singer who left this world far too soon.
Dickie Valentine too.

WoW John as I said Amazon has only 1 copy left Michael Holliday's Anthology, I don't think I can afford £45 on it, mind you I think Matt, Michael, and Bing, were three of the best Crooners that I can remember of.

I am not too sure if he was a friend of Freddie Mills, nut it was a real shame that he took his own life, if he had not, I bet he would still be going about yet.

michael holliday had a very relaxing voice, very much like crosbys, i think val doonican filled the niche when holliday passed on. and Val is still going strong performing in the odd show. What great shows he had on the bbc, something they couldnt afford to do now.

I know Mark, I have Michael Holliday playing in the background just now, If you had A record on Bing's on right now, then changed it too a Michael Holliday one, it would be hard to tell the diffrence, I am going to be buying some of Michael's CD's today, he was one of the all time greats

Yes, agree Michael Holliday sounded so much like Bing with most of his songs. Just listen to SKYLARK for instance.

Always remember "The Runaway Train" as a small child, Michael Holiday had a great voice, a fine performer. Incidentially, Right about Val Doonican and yes he's still good on stage I took my mum to see him at Weston-super-Mare Playhouse last year and he was remarkably good, wearing two deaf aids these days but looking ver daper and fit and still full of the irish charm, he did the whole show himself. A charming man.
