Des O Connor show volume 1 dvd

Post by john » Mon Jun 01, 2009 11:01 pm

I have just spotted something quite interesting. I have just been browsing Network DVD site and on the 22nd June they are releasing a Des O Connor show dvd, all from the year 1970 and featuring many stars including Val Doonican, Sacha Distel, Harry Secombe and wait for it, our Matt! I couldn't believe it when I saw it. :D

Yes, Michele and I have just found out about this one too

This is one of the shows that we were looking for when researching Ultimate Performer - They said they didn't have it!!

Typical, but glad that it's seen the light of day in any case.

You may be interested to know that the edition of Frost On Sunday featuring Matt (as included on Ultimate Performer) is also available through network.

Yes Marian, I have got quite a lot of Network dvd's, mostly all comedy series from the 60's to 80's. :D

I've spent many hours in sheet music stores and I've never seen On Days Like These. I just checked several sheet music websites and ebay, and didn't find anything. I'd think they need to pay someone to transcribe it, which would be very expensive.

For some reason, I cannot access that site---it will not open any subjects for me, and every time I click on the "Make a new account" button, I come back to the same page. Any ideas anyone--or is it AOL problems again !!!!

Hi Mariana

You can purchase it at Amazon too.
Here's the link:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/OConnor-Vol-1-D ... 134&sr=1-1

I don't see Dame Shirley Bassey on the cover though she appeared on many of his shows. :(

That looks to be a much better buy Terence. I think I'll pre-order from Amazon. At least it's from Amazon UK this time.
I've just heard from Amazon that the release date has been delayed, and the DVD is now expected between 25th June to the 2nd July.

I really enjoyed Jack on the Judy Garland Show and also Mel Torme, especially the Trolley Song with Judy that Marian mentioned earlier.
Also the great footage of the early film stars in the glory days of Hollywood.
Thank you again for guiding me to it Terence:lol:
Marian :D :D
