Portrait duet

Post by geoff83 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 4:36 pm

Just wanted to share a lovley moment from a Sheltered Housing gig that I played last night. During my first set, I mentioned the Matt Monro site, the biography, and sang "Softly.....". During the interval, one of the residents brought me one of Matt's CD's to look at, and asked if I ever sang "Portrait of My Love"? As I had planned to sing it during he second half of the show, he asked if he could sing it with me? Well, you never know what sort of voice you're going to get but I agreed for him to join me for the song. Well, he was wonderful. In fact he was so good, that I let him sing most of it on his own :-)

It was a great night all round, but that was a great memory for me to take away.

When things happen unexpectedly and they work out well they are indeed great memories.

I really enjoyed reading this, Geoff. Thanks for sharing this. :)
Do you perform a lot of songs that Matt recorded and performed?
