It is so sad to read about such uncaring people and we hope that in the future things will improve for all our sakes. We know that there are many wonderful carers but unfortunately the bad ones give the profession a bad name.

We wish all your family and friends who are having health problems that they will start to get better very soon.

That goes for us too Maureen and Harry(Pleased to hear of your great holiday in Scotland,a good job you aren't there now!)
We hope that Carole and everyone elses family on the forum are improving now.

My Mum has her had her fair share of bad carers including a young man who through no fault of his own was expected to attend to the personal washing of my Mum who is 92.
On the whole she is very lucky. Her regular carer is more like a friend and will do anything in the half hour she is alloted, and will even peel her a few potatoes which isn't a specified task.

The trouble obviously occurs when Alison is on holiday or ill, then it is a lottery whether you get a good or bad one.

My Mum is with CAREWATCH and they do send someone every now and again 'from the office' to check on her thoughts. We also have a survey to fill in yearly for our opinions.

That is interesting--obviously this position with Carole is not permanent, so she gets different carers every day. But she is hoping to manage without them soon--whether that is a good idea , I am not sure-it will be at least a month before she can do any weightbearing.

Sorry to read about your sister's problems, Mariana. Hopefully they will improve before too long. As you say, she has been unlucky with some of the "carers" she's had but, as with any job, I guess it comes down to the quality of the individuals hired: some will be good, others less so. But they should be good all the time, of course.

Thanks Jon--she is improving , but she will be confined indoors for quite a few months longer.
