Bernie Nolan - Sad News

Post by Eman » Sun Mar 24, 2013 4:50 pm

I saw this while browsing the news and someone posted it on a Pop Music page on Facebook. Wow, I knew the cancer came back, but I didn't know she was terminal and now this had to happen to her home. I'm gutted as I really love The Nolans. :( :(

I met two of The Nolans some years ago backstage after a show, it was when Bernie was in The Bill and we spoke of that and they were so proud of her. I thought Bernie was excellent in that role, it's sad to see her so ill.

With all this happening, I hope it just brings the sisters closer together because of that controversy back in 2009 when they had a reunion tour and they make ammends before it's too late.

Oh, poor Bernie-I knew she was very ill, but did not realise just how bad it had become. I hope the people who stole from her will have it on the conscience forever-I also hope they get caught so that their family and friends know just what sort of lowlife they are .

Sad. sad article.

Harry my Honolulu Lover is on a double cd--Nolan Sisters/Making Waves--and I think it was the Maing Waves cd, that this song came from--but what I did not know was that is was entered as a "Song for Europe" to go through to Eurovision, but was beaten by Black Lace. Not sure of the year.

Another nice cd/lp was called 20 Giant Hits, and included songs like "Don't it make my Brown Eyes Blue" "The Way we were" and "God only Knows"---cannot check the other one, as it is in the spare room, and my cat is fast asleep in there, and I do not want the dogs to disturb her !

It was very sad to read about Bernie in the paper this morning. It must be hard enough for her and her family to cope with her being so ill without this happening.

We hope they catch up with whoever did this awful thing and that justice will prevail.

Very sad about Bernie Nolan. And how low people can be, I hope they catch the thieves.
I always liked The Nolans, in fact, I can remember my Dad taking me to a local record shop when i was about 8 or 9, in the late 70's, to choose a record, and I chose an LP of The Nolans, one of the first records I bought.

THe lp that I was trying to remember by The Nolans was called "Tenderly" and I do not think it was ever on cd.

It includes songs like "The folks who live on the Hill" "Here's that rainy day" "When I fall in love" "In the wee small hours" "Someone to watch over me" "My funny Valentine" "Bewitched" and lots of others. Each of the girls do a solo in turns--Anne, Coleen. Bernie , Maureen---none with Linda.

It is a really lovely lp, and I am so pleased I got it converted to cd before my cd recorder stopped working !!
