URGENT - HELP REQUIRED

Post by Michele Monro » Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:34 am

One of my main hobbies is pin trading and Disney have undertaken to change some of the rules surrounding trading in there trading areas. I won't bore you with the finer details but I am starting a petition to return the area to how it was - if anybody would like to help me out and sign the petition please drop me a line at - michele@mattmonro.com

All it needs is your name and area, ie London, England

There are no exact details given out like addresses.

Many thanks for anyone that can help. I have always found that there are strength in numbers

What exactly is pin trading? Is it the little badges that you can buy, and swap ? I have never heard of this before.

Disney Pin Trading

Post by Michele Monro » Mon Apr 20, 2009 10:49 am

Disney create small metal pins of their characters, rides, movies etc which are like a lapel pin and people come from all over the world to certain locations to trade with each other. Pins that are released in Florida are different from those in California, Japan, Honk Kong and France. They also have an on-line site which sells pins, again different as are the Disney Store pins around the world.

It is a fantastic hobby, enables children to interact easily with others and is a nice memento of a trip. Max and I started nine years ago and our collection is quite big. Some of the earlier pins are quite valuable.

Some are released as an 'open edition', some are done in limited numbers, i.e only a thousand are produced and some are made with lesser numbers than that. The limited editions are the most sought after.

Thanks for that information Michelle--I have seen the pins of course, I may even have a couple tucked away !!

Yes, of course I will sign the petition--it seems a harmless hobby, that gives pleasure to the collectors, so that sounds fine.
