GOLDEN WEDDING

Post by karl » Tue Apr 22, 2014 2:44 pm

Today I received an invitation to my sister and brother-in-law's Golden Wedding later in the year.

They have stated no gifts bit I feel as it's such a landmark I shoudl do something. Obviously having been married so long they have everything but some of you may have some good suggestions.

It's going to be a busy month as I have a wedding the following week, and the previous month is a special birthday for me.

What about making a DVD of some of their photos set to some music..kinda like a themed album. I did one for my Parents 50th..it was a grueling task scanning photos, making lots of edits and putting the music in and stuff.. but they loved it and it was played at their Anniversary party..

That is a good idea of Eman's, Karl. It will be something for them to enjoy in years to come. :)

Good idea but the family made an album last year for her 70th and I supplied many of the pics.

Hey Karl, maybe if you have any old home movies and the capability to download them into the presentation along with the pictures, that would take the video into another dimension as it would be mixed..though I will warn you, you'll need to start early and have lots of patience!! It took me 2-3 months and numerous edits to get it right. Had too many critics..ha ha..as in 4 older siblings saying do this, do that, don't use that pic of me in High School lol!!!

Maxine, I found the best part of it besides the photos is choosing the music.. for the opening of mine I used Through The Years by Kenny Rogers showing my Mum and Dad when they were young and stuff. For the 60's when we lived in Japan, I used Lovin' Things by The Grass Roots (which is the same song as Marmalade's ) and the 70's I Only Want To Be With You by the BCR's (sorry Karl) cuz there was a pic of me and my siblings and I'm wearing Rollergear!! ha ha.. all the other kids look normal but I stand out!! ha ha.. The project was great fun but tiresome, but the end result was gratifying because Mum, Dad and their friends were happy!!

That crossed my mind Maxine, they don't do much theatre but they sometimes go to a concert and they do like dining out.
