KINDLE

Post by karl » Sat Jun 10, 2017 3:34 pm

Does anyone have a Kindle ? If so which one would you recommend?
I want to read Jackie Trent's book which was released on Kindle in March with the promise of a "proper" book soon, it's now June and nothing and no update on her website. Jackie was writing her book in long hand the last time I visited. Her book is getting good reviews and I don't want to miss out incase it suddenly disappears.

I haven't got one Karl, it is disappointing there is no news regarding the "proper book".

Kindle paperwhite is the most book-like. You can just download the kindle app on to your smartphone or iPad

Mike you are baffling me with technology, I have a smart phone but would not know what to do with an Ipad,I kinda lost the thread after dvd recorders, anything after that is alien to me.

If you have a smartphone you have apps on it. Go to the app store, or search for "kindle app" and you can add the kindle app to your phone. Then you can use the phone to download and read kindle books.

Thanks Mike but I don't want it draining all the power from my phone.

Also, I think it would be very difficult to read a book on your phie--but not impossible. A tyablet would be ideal--in fact I think I downloaded kindle to my samsung tablet. but rarely use it.

I have one if the very first basic Kindles which I use a great deal---but Paperwhite are definatly the best for reading--If you just want it for the odd book, i would buy a basic one--if you think you will be using it a lot , then get a more advanced one--but they all do the same thing--you jusst read your book on it.

I also have a Kindle fire--which is a Kindle and tablet combined---its ok--but needs charging a lot whereas the basic kindle can last weeks on one charge
