Hi everyone !

My vote is certainly for Leona, but I do like Ray, a very daring young man with a great future. But I suppose it will be down to the viewers who take the time to vote :?:

Lorraine Kelly mentioned Matt Monro this morning, likening Ray to him - from a distance!..

I don't think any of this years contestants have anything special unlike some of the American Idol contestants, but I did like Eton Road and think they all have great voices but at times didn't harmonise very well. Anthony has an amazing voice as does Leona but even she isn't really any different to the singers we already have.

Talking of AI, is Elliott Yamin doing anything over there Paul?

Elliott Yamin gave a solo concert in Richmond on the last day of the Virginia State Fair in October. I was considering going, but the rains and long drive kept me away. I haven't heard anything about a record contract yet.

Kellie Pickler is the first from AI Season 5 to have an album out ... no surprise, it's country. Supposedly Taylor, Katharine, and Chris all have albums coming out before year's end. But often these are delayed.

I read that the MacDonald Brothers sang the Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles). I'm sure it was great. Does anyone recall their other song?

I'm not sad I missed Leona's I Will Always Love You. It was probably way over the top. No one but Dolly Parton should ever sing this song.

I don't think Eton Road will make it; there's too much competition and their voices aren't all that special. But with Take That, All Saints, and Five back recording, perhaps there will be a resurgence in pop boys and girls bands.

As Take That are now ten years older Paul, I heard them referred to today as a "Man Band"!!

Thanks Diane, I'm sure the MacDonald Brothers did a superb job on When You Say Nothing At All.

I liked Reba McEntire's first single, Last Night Ev'ry Night. It was released in the late 1970s. I expected such great things from her after that first release. I have not liked one thing she's done since.

Hi Diane--I love Reba Macentire--have got loads of her cds--my favourite track, that I mentioned elsewhere on this forum--cannot remember where--is "The Greatest Man I never knew"---beautiful song--and she sings it superbly.

Hi Paul-yes I prefered the Macdonald brothers singing "When you say nothing at all " to Ronan Keatings version.

And now it is down to the last 4, anything can happen, as it just goes by viewers votes !

For some strange reason, I thought the Macdonald Brothers would sing a Proclaimers song somewhere along the way. I wonder why :?: is it because they are a Scottish male duo :!: a Proclaimers "clone"

Now it's down to Ben,Leona&Ray.
Anybody's guess who'll win.
I thought Barry Manilow looked very'strange' and quite'odd'when singing,EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY SOMETIME> Or was it just me?

Can't stand Ben's voice  Ray hit one or two duff notes with "My Way" although a difficult song for any one to follow, so it could be Leona. As for Barry Mannilow, we admit he did look different Mark and wondered if it was new dentures, or simply the ageing process, which we all know about.
But he's still the same nice guy.

Barry Manilow did look different ?

Wish we could have had our Matt as the celebrity on the X-Factor,

maybe Matt Jnr. will do us the honours one day to represent his Father.

I still think Leona will be the Winner, the girl that came from nowhere ?
