I agree, I much prefer Ken Bruce. Dermot talks too much and giggles and sighs too much when he talks. Ken is much more witty.

Tony pulled out of the second part of the show with a bad cold.Michael Buble stood in at short notice.

I was sorry to hear that Tony is poorly---but I am so looking forward to seeing Michael Buble--I love his new single--but I am having a lot of trouble trying to get hold of his neew cd !!

I didn't set up my VCR properly and was so disappointed when I got home at 11:00 pm and saw that I didn't tape the AI results show. But I wasn't so disappointed when I heard this morning that Michael Buble was the replacement "singer" (have to put that word in quotes when referring to Michael Buble). All reports this morning are saying that his performance, appearance, and comments with Ryan Seacrest were terrible. He sang Call Me Irresponsible, which should only be sung by Jack Jones or Julie London. So I didn't miss anything after all. I'm sorry that Tony Bennett was sick and couldn't perform. He's a real singer and a great influence on singers of many generations.

Marian - Your opinion on that "singer" may change when you watch the show this week-end. I haven't heard one positive thing about him. And the reviews keep getting worse; I just got another email ripping apart his performance and comments afterwards. Everyone (of all ages) wanted to see Tony Bennett over Michael Buble.

Tomorrow we WILL see Tony advising the contestants on the first part-not surprised Tony caught a bad cold-travelling from the cold weather in NYNY to sunny California-brrrrrr!

Well, I really enjoyed the show tonight--one of the best yet---I thought Chris and Jordan were really good---but standing out was Melinda with "I got Rhythm". I was surprised that Gina went--although I did not like her song [Smile]-I really thought Phil was going --not only did he sing one of my least favourite songs [Night and Day]--it was just boring---he should have livened it up, like Tony said. I thought Tony was very good on the show. Shame he was not well enough to perform the following night.

However--I have to say that I thought Michael Buble was great !! I loved him singing "Call me irresponsible"---I do not know if they cut some of his comments--but all he said was about wasting his money still voting for Antonella!! And Ryan said that he did too !!

Perhaps I judge everyone too hard. I thought it was one of the worse shows ever in the six seasons of American Idol, and everyone I talked with agreed with me. I thought Chris was terrible; I can't stand his nasal voice. And Jordan was off-pitch and, as I said, I didn't like her breathing in the middle of a word. And it was the comment about Antonella as well as his singing that turned everyone I know completely against Buble.

I'm pleased that we agree about Melinda.

We watched American Idol tonight and thought Jordin was good once the loud gasping stopped at the beginning of her song. Melinda was the best in our opinion. Didn't think Lakisha was as good as we've seen her before. but Tony said. that .. Phil has a great voice and we thought so too.
In fact Tony was the star of the entire show tonight and he didn't even sing.
We have always been Michael Buble fans and love the song "Call Me Irresponsible" but Harry wasn't so impressed with his singing tonight and twice Michael noticeably went off key, which is unusual. We only heard half of the comment that he made but could see that it hadn't gone down very well.
We were bored stiff with the continuous and un-necessary intrusion from the Three Stooges who were supposedly there giving opinions of the contestants performance. Where do they find them from.

I think the part where Michael and Ryan spoke about voting for Antonella was just a joke---she was a very pretty girl-not a great singer, but they obviously liked her.

I have to agree that was not the best I have seen Michael Buble--but I still thought he was great.

I have always liked Phil up until last night---it was just that song really.

I have heard so many bad comments about Cat Deeley on this show---I think she is Ok--but the 2 guys with her were on the wrong show!!

And who were they ??????

It must be my age but Cat Delley fals into my category'WORST FEMALES ON THE TELLY' along with Carol Vorderman,Davina McCall,Gaby Roslin and a bunch of others!

Cat Deeley is one of those people who do not do much--but are just famous for being famous!!!
