Robert - the good people of Hull and Humberside robbed the people of Guisborough (my home town) the possibility of being reunified with Yorkshire. People had been campaigning in Cleveland since the lates 70s, and we had nearly made it, until the people of Humberside decided that they wanted to rejoin Yorkshire, and started their campaign group - and they won!! I have been to Hull several times, and have nothing against the city per se. Its just a bit dull really

Oohhh Robert, you are a one   Must have had a senior moment with the Grantham reply but you're right, I am having a great holiday,a d I do log on every evening just to keep in touch with all you nice people. The fact that I have free Internet access has nothing to do with it :) :)

Edgar - I'm pleased you're enjoying New England and you should be heading to Canada too. I hope the leaves are beautiful. I've never seen New England in autumn. Free internet on a cruise? I've never heard of that! Perhaps you are one of their top passengers.

I've been to Cardiff to see the singer Gabrielle in concert at St David Hall in November 2000. I really liked the shopping and walking in the old part of Cardiff. I also liked the wharf area.

Hi Edgar--you are very lucky to get free internet access---it cost me a fortune from my hotel in Manchester----and I only logged on because everone else went to bed, and it seemed pathetic to me to go to bed at 9.30 on your holiday!!!

Well done Marian no.1 on reaching 100 posts :D will you get to the next century by christmas, Marian (I obviously mean the christmas after next)

Poor Marian no.2 (this is getting rather confusing, with having all these Marians about) having to pay for Internet access, while Edgar is getting it for free  also because you were ready for bed by 9.30 on your hols

Marian - Afternoon tea in Tunbridge Wells sounds delightful. The town looks beautiful in the pictures I've seen. If it has a Boots, Woolworths, and card shop, I'll be happy. Throw in an HMV and/or Waitrose, and I'll be ecstatic. :D

Hi Marian,

Well done for making it to the 100 club.
See you in the 200 club soon!
I hope all goes well with your daughters baby.
Maybe you will be able to go to the "fans reunited" evening, but on the other hand who knows what the new baby will be planning to do!

Thank you Paul, Robert, Marian and Hilary for your good wishes on finally reaching the one hundred club, and thanks again Hilary for having more faith in me than Robert that I'll make the second hundred club - hopefully sooner than a year next Christmas! You all know the tale of the tortoise and the hare no doubt
