Get you shopping delivered by Sainsbury Marian. I wouldn't fault it since I've come to rely on them for the last few weeks. :D

We generally shop at Sainsbury's or Asda, but just for convenience we visited a LIDL's near to my Sisters last week and compared to these Two named shops we were surprised at the reductions in many everyday essential food items, including home grown vegetables. Worth a look if you've got one near you. :)

I have used Sainsburys on line shopping, which was invaluable whern George was ill--however, it is nice to get out, and my friend and I ahve lunch in town-so I just wrap up against the cold.

We have a Lidl, fairly close to Sainsburys, but I have never been in there-I have always been a Sainsbury shopper-since 1968 !
Although I notice in their price comparison, they only use Asda and Tesco.

THE TARDY TROUBLEMAKER
(February 2012)

Relieved that harsh winter did not intrude
on mild January's welcome presence,
we were beguiled by the lulling prelude
to Jack Frost's revisit with a vengence.

Now as freezing temperatures hold sway
and less tha pristine-pure vistas abound,
diurnal hours daily extend their stay
and spring's heralds poke their heads above ground.

It's actually milder here today and I had the windows open!

I ring the changes with grocery shopping betweenh Morrisons, Sainsburys & Tesco. Morrisons meat is very good quality, Sainsburys close to my house is now huge afte3r an extension but in the same mall a new discount store opened a week ago and they are even cheaper than Poundland for some things.

Where I live I have a small Tesco, two Morrison's, Sainsburys, Waitrose, M&S all within a mile. and if I drive about 5 miles I can reach Asda and two larger Tesco's and 5 miles the other way is a huge Tesco. Edinburgh is absolutely full of supermarkets!!!!! Oh and Lidl is a few miles down the street with another branch in Leith, I agree their veg is very cheap but I rarely shop there for no special reason.

Now that the snow is about to take its leave
of us, maybe it isn't so bad after all.
Here is a verse my grandson wrote when he
was five years of age:

WINTER'S NIGHT

Sleet falls,
grass is white,
I'm warm on
winter's night.
Catching snowflakes
on my tongue,
making a snowman -
my own one.

We had pouring rain at first, then the snow. Thankfully it didn't stick though! :)
